Pricing
Two plans. Pay by the month, the year, or once.
Personal has everything you need to develop your own rolls. Pro adds the 16-bit colour chain, the graphics-card preview, background runs and FRONTIER PRO.
Every plan starts with the same free trial: 7 days and 15 rolls, whichever ends first, with everything on and no account.
Personal
Everything you need to develop your own rolls.
Pro
For a lab, a studio, or anyone who scans a lot.
Pro is a subscription only: every update and every major version, for as long as it runs.
Prices in US dollars. VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where it applies.
Side by side
What each plan has.
Pro
What Pro adds.
The same colour on both plans. Pro is about how much you can push a roll, and how many rolls you can move through in a day.
16-bit colour chain
The Frontier itself delivers 8-bit files, and on Personal Trichroma Lab follows it exactly. For professional work, Pro extends the same colour chain to 16 bits: the same colours, in finer steps between tones. Deep shadows and smooth skies stay clean under a strong correction, where an 8-bit file starts to show its steps, and the file keeps the room a second pass in another editor needs.
Graphics-card preview
Drag a dial and the frame follows at once: while you adjust, the live preview is drawn on the graphics card. The export is always computed on the processor, so what you write is exact.
Background rendering — no waiting
Processing a roll and exporting it take minutes, and on Pro you never sit and watch them. Send PROCESS or EXPORT to the background and keep working straight away: import and set up the next roll while this one is processed, and open the next roll while the last one exports. The runs line up in a queue and finish one after another, and a chip in the bar shows how far each has got. A whole session of rolls goes through without a single pause. On Personal, a run stays on its own screen until it is done.
FRONTIER PRO
The Frontier's own grading controls, in the machine's words: the look's warmth and skin, colour intensity, colour mode, gradation for shadows, mids and highlights, and balance. Grade a frame the way a lab operator would, not with a generic tone curve.
Tethered capture Coming
Shoot the roll straight into the app: each frame lands as it is exposed, and the roll is ready to grade when the last one is in.
Free trial
Try it on your own film first.
Download the app and start the trial from inside it: 7 days and 15 rolls, with every Pro feature on. No account and no card. When it ends, new rolls stop, and once you quit, the app won't open again until you pick a plan — your rolls stay on your disk, in files that are yours.

Questions
Before you buy.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- New rolls stop at once, and once you quit, the app won't open again until you pick a plan. Paste the key it sends you into LICENCE and everything opens again where you left it. Nothing is deleted: your rolls stay on your disk, in files that are yours.
- How many computers can I use?
- Two, on every plan — a desktop and a laptop, say.
- Can I move from Personal to Pro later?
- Yes. Buy Pro and paste its key into LICENCE; the Pro features switch on at once, with no reinstall. If you are on a subscription, write to me and I will settle the difference.
- What happens if my subscription ends?
- New rolls stop at once, and once you quit, the app won't open again until you renew — then every roll opens again as you left it. Nothing is deleted, and the images you exported are ordinary files, yours for good.
- Monthly, yearly, or once?
- Yearly costs about as much as seven or eight months, and a subscription always runs the newest version — every major version included, at no extra cost. Pro is a subscription only. Personal also comes once, for life: for people who know they will scan for years, yours for good with every 1.x update, and it pays for itself after a little more than four years.
- What happens at 2.0?
- A Personal lifetime licence keeps working with every 1.x version, for good — nothing stops or expires. It works offline on the engine version it last unlocked; when an update brings a new colour engine (or you reinstall an older build), the app fetches that engine's key on one connection and then runs offline again. When 2.0 comes, lifetime owners can move to it at an upgrade price, or stay on 1.x as long as they like. Subscribers get 2.0 as part of their plan.
- Who handles the payment?
- Lemon Squeezy, as the merchant of record: they take the payment, add the right VAT or sales tax, and send the receipt. Cancelling a subscription is one click in the link from that receipt. The terms are on /terms.
